Otomo no Kunimaro (大伴国麻呂)

OTOMO no Kunimaro (year of birth and death unknown) was a person in the Asuka period in Japan. He belonged to the Otomo clan, the powerful clan at that time, but his genealogy is unknown. His kabane (the hereditary title given by the Imperial Court) was Muraji. In 675, he was sent to Silla (ancient Korean kingdom) as an ambassador and the next year, he returned to Japan.

In "Nihonshoki" (Chronicles of Japan) it is described that OTOMO no Muraji Kunimaro was sent to Siilla as an ambassador by order of the Emperor Tenmu on August 3, 675. His official rank at that time was Shokinjo (the tenth of twenty-six official ranks) and he was accompanied by Shokinge (the twelfth grade of twenty-six official ranks), MIYAKE Nyuseki as a vice-envoy. In February, 676, he returned to Japan from his mission in Silla. Other things about Kunimaro is unknown.
